JOB OPPORTUNITY: Director of Worship

LifePoint Church, Maplewood, MN.
Job Summary: The Director of Worship and Music is responsible to lead the congregation in worship on Sunday mornings and other special worship events of the church. Coordinates the planning of the music program for both the classic and contemporary services with the Senior Pastor, the Adult Choir Director and the Worship and Music Ministries (WAMM) team to ensure that the worship is Christ-centered, blessing God and blessing the congregation. Makes music a vital and intimate part of each worship experience by bringing together various elements to glorify and praise God in keeping with the vision of the WAMM team. Leads all musicians to contribute to the best of their abilities, striving for excellence but not a human-focused performance. This position reports to the Senior Pastor and is a part time position of approximately 20 hours per week.

4) Willingness to work cooperatively and respectfully as a team with the entire ministry staff.
5) Agreement with the Constitution and the By-laws of LifePoint Church.
6) A clear desire to help the church fulfill its vision in all areas.

Job Responsibilities:
1) Plan and coordinate the music ministry:
a) Organize and schedule all music including special music.
b) Recommend to the Board of Stewards the acquisition and disposition of musical instruments.
c) Supervise the replacement and maintenance of all musical instruments.
d) Purchase music, materials and maintain the music library.

2) Supervise and direct the Worship Teams
a) Direct the Worship Teams
i) Conduct weekly team rehearsals
ii) Recruit and organize members
b) Supervise Choir Director and collaborate on planning of music ministry
c) Coordinate with Children’s Ministry Staff for any children’s music presentation in worship services
d) Church Accompanists
e) Soundboard and technical leadership and team members
f) Drama personnel, as needed.

3) Provide music for all regular services
a) Organize worship teams or alternate musical group to perform in coordination with the planning of the pastoral staff and the WAMM team.
b) Ensure that building and custodial staff has arranged the place of worship and equipment.
c) Lead congregational singing or provide someone to do this as required by the pastoral staff.

4) Assist in planning special worship services including seasonal Choir concerts.
5) Provide support for funeral/memorial services, including leading music as requested by families.
6) Prepare, submit for approval and administer an annual budget for worship ministries.
